چکیده

Biological treatment, due to the formation of hazardous chemicals remove organic compounds such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and N, N-dimethylacetamide (DMAC), has limited potential. Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are regarded a viable alternative for treating molecules containing carbon-hydrogen bonds that cannot be broken down by traditional physico-chemical methods. In this investigation, various AOPs Photo-Fenton, Electro-Fenton, Photo-Electro-Fenton were studied treat wastewaters DMSO DMAC. The effects operating parameters, including initial concentrations DMAC, pH, reaction time, different Fenton’s reagent, power UV lamp, electrolytes, distance between electrodes current intensity, investigated. findings experiments revealed pH 3 time 120 min optimal. At 2000 mg L−1 DMSO, maximum degradation final concentration TOC 98.64 % 256.8 L−1, respectively, Electro-Fenton process under optimal conditions. was successful in determining DMAC (96.31 %) (10.03 L−1) at 250 Finally, it can concluded best efficient removal second step kinetic model follows pseudo-first-order 500 pollutants obeyed pseudo-second-order 1000, L−1.

Electrochemical treatment of Acid Red 1 by electro-Fenton and photoelectro-Fenton processes

Small volumes (100 mL) of acidic aqueous solutions with 30-200 mg L TOC of the toxic azo dye Acid Red 1 (AR1) have been comparatively treated by various electrochemical advanced oxidation processes (EAOPs). The electrolytic system consisted of a BDD anode able to produce OH and an air-diffusion cathode that generated H2O2, which subsequently reacted with added Fe to yield additional OH from Fen...

Municipal solid waste landfill leachate treatment by fenton, photo-fenton and fenton-like processes: Effect of some variables

Advanced oxidation processes like Fenton and photo-Fenton have been effectively applied to oxidize the persistent organic compounds in solid waste leachate and convert them to unharmful materials and products. However, there are limited data about application of Fenton-like process in leachate treatment. Therefore, this study was designed with the objective of treating municipal landfill leacha...

Comparative Study of Oxidation of Some Azo Dyes by Different Advanced Oxidation Processes: Fenton, Fenton-Like, Photo-Fenton and Photo-Fenton-Like

This study makes a comparison between Fenton, Fenton-like, photo-Fenton and photo-Fenton-like treatment methods to investigate the removal of two acid dyes. The two selected acid dyes are C.I. Acid Orange 8 (AO8) and C.I. Acid Red 17 (AR17). These were chosen as model organic contaminants. The effect of operating parameters, such as amount of Fenton’s reagent (H2O2 and Fe) and Fenton’s-like rea...

Fenton and solar photo-Fenton processes for the removal of chlorpyrifos insecticide in wastewater

The degradation of chlorpyrifos in water by Fenton (H2O2/Fe 2+) and solar photo-Fenton (H2O2/Fe 2+/solar light) processes was investigated. A laboratory-scale reactor was designed to evaluate and select the optimal oxidation condition. The degradation rate is strongly dependent on pH, temperature, H2O2 dosing rate, and initial concentrations of the insecticide and Fe 2+. The kinetics of organic...
